Not sure if this will be helpful, Margaret, but it may well be better to acknowledge your genuine desire for the chocolates and cakes.
I’m concerned that pretending they are unpalatable (covered in washing up liquid, etc) might be a way to avoid the truth of their attraction. The point is that they are tasty, yummy, exciting, more-ish. No need to think otherwise. What you do is to accept that reality and re-evaluate the pleasure of eating them against the non-weight benefits of not satisfying your desire.
